In relation to employees, we have advised and represented employees before the courts on matters relating to unfair dismissal, involuntary resignation or redundancy and their right to be given notice prior to their dismissal. We have also acted on behalf of employees in negligence claims dealing with work related injuries against their employers.
In relation to employers, we have advised them on their duties and responsibilities towards their employees. We have also advised large organisations on setting up service regulations within their organisation for dismissing or making employees redundant. Furthermore, we have worked together with them and helped them update the standard terms of their employment contracts to ensure compliance with national Laws and Regulations as well as with European Union Law and International Conventions.
Furthermore, we liaise on behalf of clients with the regulatory authorities, such as the Department for Work Inspection, the Social Insurance Services, the Department of Labour Relations, the Redundancy Fund and the Registrar of Occupational Retirement Benefit Funds, in order to facilitate an amicable resolution of a dispute between an employer and an employee without the need for court measures to be taken between them or by the regulatory authority against the employer.
